ARTS AND CRAFTS

Good morning!

Today I have woken up later. That's because the night before I didn't slept well, so I have had to hurry myself up for not arriving late at school. The fact has been that I have arrived a little late and everyone have been seen me while I was running to school...

We have had classes as always and after having lunch we've gone to Crafty Alley. It's a place where people can buy material for painting or drawing, but we haven't bought anything. A woman called Mairéad has taught us how to do baskets made of wool. I have really enjoyed this activity and I think my mates have enjoyed too.

In the afternoon I've gone home and my host family have decided to do a barbecue. Although the sun was shining it was very cold so I've stayed inside and I've waited for a cheeseburger, two sausages and a chicken wing. It was awesome.

Good night!

PITCH AND PUTT

In the morning we had classes (as always), we also played some games in class. After lunch we went to the pitch and putt club next to the school. We made some teams of three or four each. It was really funny because I've never played pitch and putt before. After the pitch and putt out host families picked us up and we went home.

STARTING THE THIRD WEEK!

After weekend with the family we returned to classes at 10 o'clock. Unlike the other two weeks we stayed in the same class, since we were few, only nine. During the class we wrote a letter in English to our host family, among many other activities. At the end of the classes we were offered two options: go to the cinema and watch a movie or stay in school and watch two movies while eating pizza. Of course we've chosen the second option, you know the symptoms of hunger! Hahaha! At 17 o'clock our host mothers have picked us at the school to remain on them. It has been a fun day, despite the rain and cold!

DISCO!

The last Thursday was the last day of class for the two-week group. In the morning all the classes sang a songs which we have practiced all week to. Brendan's class performed Fields of Atherny (a typical Irish song), Brid's class sang I wish that I could see you soon (a popular Catalan beer advertisement song) and Louise's class performed two songs Party Rock Anthem and an Spanish song. In the afternoon we went to the disco. We danced a lot. When we leaved the disco it was raining and it was the time to say goodbye to the students who leave the next day.

Dear diary ,
Today it has been a very exciting day!
In the morning , during the first hour we have done class, but during the second hour we have had like a small party (because the big party was in the afternoon, but this I will explain it later).
Our group leaders and our English teachers gave to each of us a certificate and a pen-drive. Later the teachers have chosen the best student during this two weeks of each class, and they give them a hoodie. But the morning didn't end here! Apart of all these things , each group has sung two songs like a concert and later we have done a photo of each group. At lunch time we have celebrated Hector's Birthday! All together we have sung a song and we had like a snack with chips and a cake.
After having lunch, girls and boys (there were some boys too!) went to change their clothes for the Disco! And we went to McSorleys night club and we spend two hours there. We have enjoyed a lot! At the end of the disco we love danced a Spanish song to say goodbye! When it was five o'clock we went to school to left students with their families. And there where were most people began to cry. This was the worst moment in these two weeks. Ireland was crying too, and it poured raining. These was the way that it says goodbye to the students.

In the afternoon, the students who were staying two weeks, have packed their bags. This night has been the shortest. The last week we are staying only nine people and we will miss a lot all of those students that have made these two weeks so wonderful and funny to us. We love you guys!

SOCCER AND HAIR & BEAUTY DEMO

Yesterday we did some activities; first we did the last shopping. We just had one hour so we had to be fast. We brought some souvenirs for our family and some more clothes like an Ireland jumper. Then we went to the school where we had some beauty lessons (just girls). It was very funny; they made us with curly hair. We were so pretty And all the girls had made something.
They had put make-up in their faces, painted their nails or did up their hair. While we were doing all this, the boys were playing soccer. We (Ivet and Adriana) passed a fantastic evening with our families. We walked around the town and we cycled around the rounds and hills. It was brilliant.

ADVENTURE CAMP

Today with the school camp we've gone to do archery. We've built a hut and learnt how to make a fire.
It's been a wonderful day, everybody have had fun. Luckily none of us have got hurt with the bow arrow.
In the morning during the lessons we've learnt a lot and we've started to do some new songs because we are going to sing it.
Well, I think it's been a wonderful day.

STARTING THE 2nd WEEK

Afegeix la llegenda
After two days without classes, it was lovely to get up early to go to school. We went to Lough Leane to go on a boat around the lake. It was very nice to see the beautiful landscapes of the Killarney National Park. Then we had a little bit of free time to walk around Muckross House (the Guinness family old holiday house). It's very big and it has very big gardens also.
We went to Torc Waterfall and took some nice photos there too.
Kerry is the nicest county in Ireland, full of mountains, lakes, sheep, cows and really beautiful beaches.
And it was the second day that didn't rain since we arrive in Ireland.

Then I went to a pub and had dinner.

Yesterday I got up at eleven o'clock. Ann Marie said me that we were going to the church. It wasn't extremely funny because understanding what they were saying was too difficult.
At twelve o'clock we were in our house when Eva and her mum arrived. We had lunch and then we were going to Killarney to go shopping but we didn't find anything, so we went to Penney's. In there I bought 22 t-shirts and one skirt. All was so cheap. I love this shop!
Then we arrived to our house and we had dinner.

Clàudia

On Saturday night I went to Killarney funfair. On Sunday I could get up at eleven o'clock. I played with Irish people and my "uncles" came to our house.

It was a nice day.

Yesterday it was a different day because I stayed at Laura's house cause her "parents" went to a wedding on Friday. We got up at eleven o'clock and we didn't do anything during the morning. We had lunch in Killarney instead, and then I went shopping with Laura's family. After that we went to Ross Castle where we had a coffee and a small walk. We return at home where I found many friends. We were with the puppies all evening. Elena's family and she had dinner at my house until eleven o'clock. We were laughing a lot with Elena's brother.

Judith G

Yesterday was the only day that I could sleep until the hour I wanted. After having lunch I went to Ross Castle and I visited it. In the afternoon I went to a friend's house because she has puppies and I went to spend the afternoon there. At dinner time I ate Chinese food and at eleven o'clock I went to sleep.

Laura B

Yesterday I went to the beach in the morning. Then we went to the supermarket and we bought a lot of meat because we had a barbecue in the afternoon. When we finished the barbecue I went to Judith's house wit one friend and we stayed there until 21:30. It was an amazing day!

Yesterday I spent all day with my family: First I ate Irish breakfast and then we went to the church. For the lunch we went to Ladies' view (amazing) and then we went to strawberry fields to eat a pancake (delicious). Afterwards we went to Muckross house.
After I came back I walked with my friends.  Annette told me her father had died and they will have to go to Germany so I have to decide where I'm going to live for the next 4 days...
Anna O

Our weekend started on Saturday afternoon. We went to a Fair and we get into different attractions and we ate popcorn. A day in Ireland is like a day in Spain. We had an Irish typical breakfast, a hot sandwich with cheese and bacon. At 4pm. our “sister” had to work, so we went for a walk with the family. Then we had dinner on the family fast food restaurant and stayed the rest of the day, with some friends, at home.

SHOPPING DAY IN CORK

On Saturday we went to Cork by bus. When we arrived at Cork at eleven o'clock we started shopping. We walked around St.Patrick's street because at that street there are a lot of shops. My group was Xavi, Dani, Jaume, Dani, Gerard and me. I bought a lot of things: T- shirts, games, CD's…
We had a lot of fun buying things and talking to English people. At 15:15 we went on the bus and he took us to Killarney again. Then we went with our families. I had dinner at 6 o'clock and after that I played with the boy of my family. And that's what I did on Saturday.

SOME MUSIC BEFORE THE SCAVENGER HUNT

Dear diary,
Today it has been a special day...
All started with no classes because we have had a "concert". "How embarrassing!" everybody thought.

First group was First Certificate level singing I'm yours with guitar accompaniment. Next was pre-intermediate groups turn singing Sol, solet and San Fermín translated into English.

Finnally the intermediate group sung with two main voices the choir and guitar accompaniment The lazy song. The best three voices of Manyanet (Eva, Carles and Irene) has showed to us that they know how to sing doing a solo in front of us.

Brendan, our teacher, is a famous musician in Ireland. He plays on the musical "The Riverdance" and he played his violin for us! Thanks Brendan!

In the afternoon we did the Scavenger Hunt in Killarney! 7 things to buy and 18 questions to answer. It has been a crazy day! Now it's raining and 30 seconds later is not, when you put your umbrella in your bag, it starts to rain again! Group 2 arrived the first to the finishing line but with some wrong answers, group 5 has won the prize: all the things that other groups had bought.

Later we came back and everybody went with their host family to have dinner at 6 o'clock. Oh! My god! It's difficult to get used to this!

We have gone to the bowling. We have played one hour and a half and we had fun.
First we stayed playing with the machines, eating sweets and laughing but when we had space to play we started.
After that we went to a shopping centre fifteen minutes and we bought food. I had dinner at 6:30. After dinner a friend came to my home and Grace, Greim, my friend Hector and I were jumping on the trampoline.
Later me and my family were watching a film which the main character was Sandra Bullock and at 23:30 I went to sleep. I was very tired.

IRISH EXPERIENCE

Today, like everyday we've gone to the school at 10 o'clock. After the three hours of class we have had lunch, which is made by the Irish families.
Then, the group has gone to a small sports centre in Killarney. The teachers have prepared some sports like basketball, volleyball and other crazy games.
It was very funny. After these exciting sports we have gone to our respective house.
We have to say that yesterday we went to see a typical Irish concert where people danced, sang and played different instruments in a famous five star hotel.

We are enjoying a lot this experience.

FIRST DAY OF CLASS

Today it has been the first day of class!!

We have started with a test to devide us in three groups depending on our english level. Then teachers have explained us how does the school work and what will we do the two first days. After that we did a break and we started our classes.

When classes finished we had lunch. It was a new experience to eat irish sandwitches, but it was great. We also had a surprise for a boy of our group: it was Xavi's birthday and we gave him a chocolate cake!!

Then we have gone to visit Killarney and we stayed some time in a shopping center. Later we have gone with carriages pulled by horses called Jaunting Cars arround the Killarney's National park, the largest park in Ireland. We loved that walk. <3

At last we arrived at school and our families came to bring us at our homes.

IRELAND, WE'RE COMING!

All parents, be relaxed.
This is fantastic. We arrived here at 4:30. We like it so much. There are lots of trees and plants, but here is colder than Spain. There aren't flats, only houses. And all them are of different colours! Today is a busy day because there is a very important football match!
All families are very kind and friendly with us. At first we were very nervous, but now we are having fun! Food in general is very good.
Now we are going to bed and tomorrow we will get up at 9 am!
We hope it continue being incredible.
We all miss you a lot!
Big kisses.

ARRIVAL TO IRELAND
